Domino’s delivers Pizza to outdoor pick-up points

Haven’t we all though about it? Relaxing on the beach, strolling through the park, and what’s missing is a good Pizza to be delivered directly into our arms. Domino’s Pizza, in a great outdoor campaign, has now started to solve this problem and delivers Pizza free of charge to selected outdoor meeting points.

dominos-doors2It’s actually amazing that nobody has though about it before.

What they did is simply set up pick-up points at well frequented places like beaches and parks, each one with a unique number. People can then call Domino’s to order their favourite product by simply mentioning the pick-up points number. Mixing the two consumption occasions “eating out” and “home delivery” Domino’s has successfully created their own occasion, which has brought them a lot of attention in terms of word of mouth and within Blogs.

We think: A great concept which is definitly transferable to other categories as well. how about a service to deliver a picknick basket directly to the place where you want to have it? The possibilities are endless and there should be no shortage of people using the service, especially in seasonal places like beaches.
