The entire airplane is covered with details about the plane, including arrows pointing to the more interesting parts.

“The big cheese” describes the captain’s window. An arrow points to the aircraft’s registration, calling it the “Secret code.”

Even the lav is pointed out, with the description, “Loo (or mile-high initiation chamber).”

The black box, seats, stabilizer and rudder are also pointed out and include a bit of clever commentary as well. I think we can all appreciate a marketing scheme that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Basically speaking PREZI is a new way of presenting content to an audience, freeing you from the pressure to compress every information you have into the PowerPoint framework of squared slides. Using a border less canvas you can now place content wherever you want, connect different parts of the presentation with each other and let the audience zoom into wherever they would like to have more information on a topic. The best thing about PREZI however is the fact that information can now be showcased in a very structured format and the audience will always know where in the presentation they are currently and which topic you are talking about at any time.

With Jack Dorsey, the Founder of Twitter, on the advisory board the guys behind PREZI have built something really awesome and something that, at least for us, has the potential to transform the way information is being presented in the business world.

PDF, Flash and movies are supported an can be integrated and played within the presentation without any limits, which makes the whole thing more of a multimedia show than a simple click-click-click PowerPoint presentation. Be prepared to impress everybody at the next meeting and embarrassing the guy presenting after you, we promise he will look like straight out of the stone-age.

Basic, non-private presentation can be built for free, whereas annual subscriptions are available for everybody who wants to ad privacy to presentations or wants to be able to use the service offline with the help of a desktop tool. Prices for these subscriptions range between 39 and 119$ per year.

We think: One of the best discoveries on the web so far, and a real pearl when it comes to usability.

Take the example of Apple: What an amazing ride this company has had in the last ten years, and boy how they have transformed basically every industry they have put their food in. The Iphone undoubted has changed the way people treat their phone and the way they do business will be the next. With example emerging where the Iphone basically acts as a device to redeem store credit and can read credit cards, this device has anything but reached its peak when it comes to growth. Integrating ann Application store and connecting it with Itunes to even further increase sales of MP3’s is exactly the type of integration which drives businesses into new heights.

Another field where this slowly but surely becomes apparent is the E-Reader market. With Amazon launching their Kindle and Kindle DX series, integration has in my opinion reached its perfection. Does anybody still believe that normal book stores are going to make it over the next decade or so? Let’s look at the facts: Amazon has already a share of 18% in worldwide book sales, which is incredible. Now they are essentially also offering you a way to consume these books on the spot, for a cheaper price and in a more convenient way than it has ever been possible.  

Of course there are a couple if dreamers who think that books will always prevail and that somehow the “romance” is gone when you read on an E-Reader. But lets be honest here: There is only a certain level of money you are willing to spend on romance, I would guess 80% of the worldwide reading is not being done for pleasure but for news consumption and business purposes. What better way to increase the convenience of these occasions than to aggregate the reading in one small device?

However the vertical and horizontal integration for E-Readers will be the essential part of their success. By offering everything from support in the writing process to the reading device where the content is being consumed, Amazon is preparing to give you 100% of the added value of the reading experience, and we would be stupid not to embrace the chance to take on the offer.

Because after all the question is: Is there really an argument to be made AGAINST E-Readers? I believe there is not. It is good for the environment, it is good for news sharing, it is great for real time consumption and, and there I go against what most people currently believe, there is enough romance left in the “reading for pleasure” are if you look at the devices being launched on a weekly basis.

Alpine traditionalists who last year complained about the growing trend towards cheap lederhosenimported from Asia may cry heresy at the sight of Kolb’s lederhosen. After all, they’re manufactured in China and don’t contain a scrap of leather.

Kolb, who runs two restaurants in Austria, says he has received orders from all around the world for his trunks, which can also be used as leisure shorts. Countless emails have flooded in to his company, PK Traditional, with photos of people wearing them on beaches as far away from the Alps as Florida, Australia and Japan.

Since he launched the product four months ago, he says he has only been able to satisfy 10 percent of demand, and has sold more than 20,000 via sports shops in Austria and his company’s Web site.

Major retail chains are lining up to stock them and Kolb says the demand has got so out of hand that he decided to shut down production at the Chinese factory at the end of August and reorganize the business from top to bottom so that he can produce and distribute the design in sufficient quantities in time for 2010 spring/summer season.

A woman’s version, the “dirndl bikini,” has already sold out completely and the company is fast running out of lederhosen in the most common sizes, he says.
