Marketplace for Ambient Media
20.02.2009
DOMEDIA is a fairly new startup company, focussing on providing a marketplace as a connection betwee
n buyers and sellers of ambient media spaces and locations.
After browsing around on their site a bit I had to learn that their services are only available in the USA for the time being, which is really a shame. If you work in Marketing I bet its been many times that you saw some very cool ad-location and just couldn’t understand how your media agency could not propose this. Also, in the message-overcrowded times we are in, its always great to come up with something special or downright crazy in terms of advertising to get the attention back to the brand you are responsible for. A very good example for this as well is “the economist”, which always had a very good way of dealing with ambient media:

Check out DOMEDIA’s site, I’m sure there is something for everybody!

Thanks so much for the DOmedia acknowledgment! I’d just like to let you know that we’re currently working on expanding our marketplace internationally. Keep an eye out for it in months to come!

Tried it out. Not yet fully developed for non-US locations but they seem to be close to moving out of BETA. Interface was friendly. Ideas like this fuel creativity. Alternative ideas that wouldn’t necessarily have the traditional venues to promote them now have a voice.

It’s definitly the way to go in terms of Media buying, it never made sense to me to have an external media agency getting 30% of your budget just to plan something, for most products and markets you could do that yourself! Not valid of course for multi-billion dollar brands, but there are not so many of those anymore!;-)
