Ahhhhhh,
The first post in 2009 and already with the potential to be one of the best ever.
This is a TV ad for the Ukranian Army (and in case you are wondering, yes, its real), which appaerently has the purpose of showing how cool it is to be in the army and that all the chicks really dig it. I think it works, but judge for yourself.
In addition to being totally overloaded with all cliches one might have for ukranian or eastern european countries in general, this is actually TOTALLY sexist and as a Marketing Manager it would be really nice to see the response rate on this one. Nice one, Ukrania!
What I like best: “Daytime at work, and at night in the clubs!” perfect…
Translation:
girl 1: would u take us for a ride on your BMW?
BMW-driver: even to the end of the world!
soldier: hey, i’d like to drown some vodka, girls!
girl 1: just a second!
girl 2: where do you live?
soldier: right here- daytime at work, and at night in the clubs!
girl 1: which work???
soldier: contract of course!
blonde girl: contract?? marriage contract or what?
girl 3: army contract, stupid!
BMW driver: hey, don’t you wanna ride on my car?
girls: forget it, take yourself for a ride!
narrator: it’s about time for new heroes! with contract based service in ukrainian armed fores!

Well the translation is rather off a little bit, but gives an idea… Vodka would be the last thing they want to associate service with… Club is different.. seems quite lame and too magical…great post, I’ve enjoined it !

Well, I guess the Vodka/Water thing sounds true, would be weird to have the down a pint of actual Vodka!;-)

It’s not about VODKA! They (mil. men) ask for water (VODICHKA, a dim. form for VODA=WATER in russian/ukrainian).

Hey this was probably one of the most effective articles I’ve had the chance to view on the subject so far. I don’t know where you get all your data but keep it coming!
